The mask specifies which pixels are drawn in one of the two colors or if they are to be left transparent so that background graphics can show through. if the mask is zero the pixel is transparent, if 1 it is drawn in one of the two colors.
The bitmap determines the color of any shown pixels.
A cursor also has a single pixel designated as the hot spot.
