Visual Arts Computing - Saving to acasun:
Once you have completed a Photoshop drawing, you may want to save it to acasun.
To save as a JPEG file:
The drawing must not have any layers. Look in the layer window, and if any layers besides
"background" exist, you must first flatten the image. Select the "flatten image" entry from the
Layers menu.
Now, you must mount the acasun file server to access your account. Select "Chooser" from
the Apple menu in the upper left corner of the screen. A dialog box containing several icons will
appear. Click on "Appleshare". Now click on the "server IP address" button. Enter acasun as
the server name. Replace "student" with your login name, and also type the first eight characters
of your password. If you have successfully logged in, your account will now be available. Close
the chooser.
At this point you may resume the process of saving your file in Photoshop. Click on "Save as" in
the "File" menu. If you do not automatically find yourself in your acasun account, click on
"Desktop", then select your acasun account as the folder, then select the "public_html" folder.
(The public_html folder is automatically created for you when you receive your acasun
account. Any files you wish to be visible with a Web browser must reside in this folder.) Change
the extension of the filename to jpg and select "jpeg" as the file format. Press the "save" button.
A dialog box will appears which allows you to select a quality factor. You will probably be most
satisfied with "high" or "maximum".
When you finish, be sure to disconnect your acasun account, either by selecting "eject
username" from the special menu or by holding down the "command" key while typing "e".
