Project 3: (watercolor painting) - (due Thursday, August 24)

On a sheet of watercolor paper, practice combining various colors to create new ones. Experiment with techniques such as washes (wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry), drybrush, and masking.

On a new sheet of watercolor paper, create a color wheel with a total of 12 color entries. Start with the three (traditional) primary colors and combine each pair of primary colors to create the three secondary colors. (Note: Do not use the green from your paint kit! You must create your own green.) Finally, create one color by equally combining each pair of primary and secondary colors. On the same sheet of paper, demonstrate your use of washes (wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry), drybrush, and masking.

On a new sheet of watercolor paper, create a watercolor painting of the still life assembled in the classroom. Try to employ each of the techniques listed above in your final painting.
