A 2.5-kg rotating red disk is connected by a string over a pulley of mass m = 1 kg to a black hanging mass as shown in the animation (position is given in centimeters, time is given in seconds, and velocity is given in centimeters/second). The post the red disk sits on is massless and has frictionless bearings. The string is wrapped around the post and does not slip. The bearings in the pulley are frictionless and the string does not slip. What is the black block's mass? You may use either force/torque or energy methods. Restart.
