What will be available but changed during co-location? [edit]

  • FTP access to the academics.eckerd.edu server using a regular FTP program will be available but one of the starting steps will be different. (See Section IV. B.)
  • Access to Novell (where you can store, back up, and retrieve your documents) will be available but only through a web-based program. Normally, you can access Novell directly when you are on campus and access it via a web browser when you are off campus. During co-location, only the web-based access will be available. You can find the web-based program by going to the MyEckerd page (http://my.eckerd.edu) -- >Manage your Accounts -- > Novell NetStorage Remote Access or by going directly to https://novell.eckerd.edu/NetStorage/ Remember to log in using your Novell password which probably is different from your email password. Currently you need to include your context along with your user name when you log in to the co-located version of Novell, but IT is working on this with the goal of only requiring your user name and Novell password.
  • The main MyEckerd page will change. It will display information after you log in giving your emergency contact information that you submitted earlier and inviting you to update this information as needed. Contact information for Bill Junkin and Nick Shaffer will also be displayed prominently on this page.
  • If you have hidden materials in Moodle that are to be used when the campus is closed, be sure to go to Moodle and “unhide” these materials.
  • Material that is already posted in the CMS system will be available but no one will be able to change this information while the campus is closed.
